AITT the UK’s fastest growing accrediting body for workplace transport training.

AITT is one of the former founders of the ABA, which was created in 2012 at the request of the HSE. This Organisation is the only Accrediting body in the ABA that is member run. I look forward to offering out this Accreditation in the coming weeks, once all of the background systems are in place. ACORNS is AITT’s operator upload data system – ACORNS – AITT Certificate of Operator Registration Number Scheme.

A fantastic place to go to for myself. Not too far to travel, and the nicest people you could wish to meet and engage with for the 2 days i was at Bays Brewery in Paignton, Devon. Really good & safe attitudes from all of the delegates whilst using the forklift at all times. Very interesting process which results in fantastic end products!! Which i had the pleasure of trying at the end of my time with Will & his staff. I highly recommend all of their products.

Yet another ALLMI Lorry Loader course run in Cornwall.

Even though we had 2 experienced operators, they have to demonstrate that they have the skills to reach the high standards required to qualify for the ALLMI Operator Qualification. Here the delegate demonstrates that he has control & smooth use of the Fassi 66 tonne/metre machine – capable of lifting 16,000kgs @ 3.4 metres. Once he has demonstrated this a couple of times. We move onto bigger loads!!!!!!

Touchdown……excellent! The “tag-line” man – stops the load from over rotating only with a tag line attached on opposing sides! Helping as part of a team to make it safe to execute the planned lift.

Always good to be close to home when working rather than the other side of the country, standards are still set & more often met by the delegates. The 2 delegates on this counter balance course were excellent, and after a period of familiarisation training from their company will no doubt go on to help the production flow using the forklifts on site.

Just gotta love getting wet & muddy for our customers!

So when we do Forklift training we endeavour to make it as difficult as possible for the delegates, we do have guidelines over the space allowed in a pallet chicane, here the delegate demonstrates near perfect position to get the loaded forklift (combined gross weight of over 5900kgs) around both of the 90 degree left & right hand turns. A fair degree of practice and understanding goes into this prior to them being this good at it, and me picking the knocked over pallets up where they are learning this skill. People do ask “When am i likely to use this skill again?”

In tight situations you will remember how the machine is able to turn through 90 degree’s – whether its any where on the current sight, or even in the future on another tight site or area. Its something that stays with the operator for as long as they drive the machine.
