We have delivered ALLMI Accredited Lorry Loader & Slinger/Signaller training to a variety of customers this year, some are long standing returning customers! In nearly all cases the customers have opted to gain DCPC hours towards the drivers 35 hr 5 yearly total required to maintain their Driver Qualification CPC cards. This is something we have offered our clients for many years now, and makes perfect sense to do whilst the training takes place. Here at SMC Training, if we can, we like to give course delegates real world experience of some of the tasks that they will be expected to undertake. When possible I like to get the course delegates unloading pallets of goods. In this next set of pictures (taken by someone else) you can see this very inexperienced course delegate being guided under the strict supervision of Steve, unloading a pallet of goods weighing about 850kgs from a large goods vehicle from start to finish.

Rest assured, his visual checks were plentiful and constant! I believe in giving course delegates experience in doing this if we have time, also smaller vans are trickier to deal with. We only did 1 or 2 pallets each delegate, the usual forklift operator completed the lorry, 26 pallets takes a while.

I was recently tasked with providing some ALLMI Accredited Slinger/Signaller training for some Network Rail staff. Carried out at their Doncaster depot. Now the staff are completely prepared and suitably qualified for all the jobs they will be tasked with moving forward.

Helping out to train the local council staff team with some Telehandler training, these course delegates underwent a variety of tasks, using the different attachments that they would use in their daily routines. All of them took to the machine very well. Demonstrating very high levels of skill and control.

Sometimes you only have a limited amount of space to train in, due to this you have to adapt the training to the tight locations! Still a test has to be conducted, so we do the best we can.
